According to Aurum's "Horror" Encyclopedia, there are serious differences between the Spanish version ("La tumba de la isla maldita"), even the credited director is not the same. Apparently the USA...

I kinda like it - it is slow, but it has that great 70's horror vibe, a babely vampire lady, and a more traditional look at the world of the vampire... and the final action sequences are pretty great!

Dr. Acula, I completely agree with you. Jane and I saw it at George Reis' first drive-in event and we both liked it, despite the flaws mentioned here.

Idea: Miley Cyrus starring in a quasi-remake called Hannah Montana, Queen of the Vampires. We could market to all the Miley fans PLUS all the Twilight fans! We'll make, like, a tragillion dollars!

VCI re-released this as an 8 movie pack "Scream Theater." Same transfer as their 2001 release (still not anamorphic widescreen) but it looks slightly better. What is missing is an Easter egg I found...
